How did you find out about Golden Bomber?

Sort of a silly thing but I like hearing about how people found out about Golden Bomber. Some people’s stories are really funny too. So please, tell us how you discovered this wonderful band.~

I remember I was in school at the time in my video editing class. I wasn’t doing my work and was going through youtube. The video of them dancing to Memeshikute in the small room showed up and all I could think was, “Omg who is this? Why he dressed like he is from the 90’s? Those pom poms!” Then after that I found the movie and that started this obsession with them shortly after. XD

Oh man... I was going through old magazines and I found a few little things about SINCREA. I listened to them once in a while, and I was curious about other bands they were friends with and other bands that sounded like them. I found a really old clip of Golden Bomber, back with their original drummer, and I fell in love XD I started looking up old live clips, and I nearly pissed myself watching the old 'Goldenly Bombered' TV shows. Omg, I've never found a band that I've loved this much before XD

I'm also trying to re-find the video they made with Dankichi and the "haunted house." That was one of the first videos I found and I regret not adding it to my favorites on youtube. Most likely it was deleted or something.

I found out about them trough Tumblr xD
I watched their movie without knowing who the hell they were and then I started to watch videos on Youtube and obsess, haha. They are such a nice change to regular bands with their crazyness and insaneness ^^

for me it's also because of those old 'Goldenly Bombered' TV shows and after a while also through SINCREA. Goldenly Bombered videos are still those that I re-watch a lot. I remember how they immediately made me interessted because of their weird behaviour XD They were different and I liked it.

Now I feel like I need to go and spam youtube to re-watch everything haha. XP

Their weird behavior is what made me interested too. I hadn't really watched any videos on youtube before I watched the movie. There weren't any subtitles at the time so it was very, very confusing but they "act" so dramatically that you pretty much can figure it out for yourself haha. But oh did I rage when Jun-pu was pregnant lol.

I am just a bit tired of seeing the same thing, I've been to a handful of concerts and true they are still amazing but it's the same thing every time. Once I started watching Golden Bomber's lives I was hooked. They made me smile so much and that's all I really needed lol.

Then I hate for this to be a reason, but my cochlear implant is still new and music is sort of difficult to hear. Their songs is a tad easier to comprehend and sometimes it takes listening to half of a song to recognize it. I have a few friends that are really understanding and when we watch lives together they will tell me what song is playing so I don't have to sort through a bunch in my head. So even if I can't understand it at the moment I can enjoy the visuals. >.< I sound like a terrible fan but I love what I can hear/remember.

Oh, the lives... I'd seriously kill to see them live. I can't even imagine what a performance in the US might be like XD

Same here. There are many clone-bands out there. GB broke that chain. That's what makes me respect this much. They also keep doing what they want and what they love. I hope they'll keep it up for a very long time really.

And you're not a bad fan at all dear. The reasons why you like a band differs with everyone.

I really love that they turned down several offers to go major, one of which being PSC, because they didn't want to change who they are. They knew if they signed a major contract, they'd be turned into another generic band. I'm glad they didn't want to change, they're a breath of fresh air in the scene~

I agree with both of you XD I think I would lose some of the love I have for them if they turned into clones of other bands. I can't really imagine a concert without their crazy skits or their sound being something different than it is.

Thank you for the reassurance too. <3 I've gotten into a few arguments with people because of it. At least within this fanbase people are understanding.

Sounds silly but if I ever got the chance to meet them I would have them sign my cochlear implant haha. They brought me back to enjoying jrock again and made me optimistic about my hearing. I've meet a lot of amazing fans because of them too. I have a feeling they would be like, "What is this??? O.o" though when I take it off the back of my ear. XP

and "a breathe of fresh air to the scene" is probably the best description that could describe them. XD

I discovered them on January 4th (lol yeah I remember the date xD)
I was watching an Lc5 interview or something, on youtube, and then they showed a short kinda commercial of the Mata Kimi ni Bango PV where Kirisho was swinging his arm, you know xD And I thought they looked so interesting and cool and I thought 'I have to watch this whole PV' n_n So I found it and watched it and I just loved it and the song too ^o^

The fact that you remember the date is amazing haha. XD
That pv is a great one. I remember laughing so hard when I first watched it, to the point of tears lol. It was something I expected but at the same time was surprised over. ^.^

My friend became obssesed with The gazette and decided she's download hundreds of their pv's and other jrock and visual kei bands. She then put all these onto my ipod without my knowledge (I could have killed her). So anyway I watched a couple, thought they were a bit weird and kind of depressing but then I found matakimi ni bango and couldn't stop laughing...I think I watched it a hundred times before I realised she'd also added memeshikute... and that is the magical story of how I deiscovered Golden Bomber, and Miyavi as well. So then I spent probably a week on youtube looking up funny GB stuff.

I saw loads of their pictures on tumblr. Being the pervert that I am, I was attracted to Kenji's nude pics. LOL. So yeah, went to find out more about them and listened to their songs. Just that and I'm hooked :>

Honestly, I have the memory of a very old person. I can't even remember when, where or how I got into them. I do remember that I had heard their name a few times and after a while I decided to check them out and I remember thinking to myself as I clicked on some of their stuff (don't remember if it was youtube or mp3s) "WHY DIDN'T I LOOK YOU GUYS UP EARLIER?!" <3 Followed by me watching the Goldenly Bombered videos and thinking "What the hell is wrong with these guys? ...do they have any more stuff, and where can I own some of this cracktackular goodness?"
Then I found their Cds online and bought everything in sight that I could afford! XD
Haven't looked back since ^-^

As with all my favourite bands, I heard of them before I listened to them, and thought "Who the fuck are these freaks?" and I didn't listen to them until a few months later after a few friends told me that I really needed to listen to them and like them. And so eventually I listened to Memeshikute, and started checking out some pictures and BOOM, insta-fan. xD

and that is my very boring story. =_=;

It's pretty much the same here: I was just scrolling through my tumblr dash and all of a sudden more and more pictures of this naked guy popped up over and over again! And whenever I was talking about Jun, people would ask me if I was talking about Utahiroba Jun (at the time it was still Spiv States' Jun I was talking about) and I got more and more curious and found more and more pictures. I already loved them from just the pictures though, but then I found out about memeshikute thanks to... I don't even remember who actually xD and then I was in absolute love with them =w=

On facebook my friend showed me Memeshikute. At first I was like.. wtf are they doing? xD Then I heard more and more songs of their band and there it began. My obsession. LOL Kiyuuin was so funny in this video that I began watching more and more videos. Im glad I found out about this band, they're different from other bands and they're funny aswell. ^^ Jun is my bias though.

I was actually looking for something (can't remember what it was) on nikoniko douga and ended up watching "Odotte mita"-videos. And there was this girl dancing to a great song (which in the end turned out to be "Memeshikute" - which I've never heard of before at that time). Because this girl in the video didn't mention the band or title of the song in the details I tried to sound out what the guy was singing and looked it up on google xD

Yes, that's how I've became a GB fan ^ワ^

I was looking through a couple Videos on Youtube 'till I found the Memeshikute Video and all I thought was something like "Well, they are bad actors.. But the music sounds good. But the acting is still bad." and then I looked up some songs and videos of them and yeah.. I liked them more and more and now they're my favorite band ~（´∀｀）

I found out about them, little less than 1.5 year ago I think. Anli Pollicino was playing in the Netherlands and when me and my friend were checking out their music we somehow ended up on the euclid website. Because we liked Anli we wanted to check out the other zany zapp bands, SINCREA and Golden Bomber at the time I believe. When we saw the name ゴールデンボンバー　and thought it was hilarious. We looked up memeshikute, loved it, Tara found out I was listening to them, and she spammed me to death lol.
