Suggestion

I have a suggestion for the forum, actually a few.

First, what if we had a function where you could hide links to media and they would only be revealed after you post a comment.
Or maybe just a Thanks button that people can hit when they take media or to thank you for posting info and stuff.
And my last suggestion related back to the first one, but if you want to put a password to your file, there should be away that only those who reply to the post can see the password, instead of just stating it.
I basically want to prevent people just joining the forum and stealing the stuff everyone posts, because leeching is always an issue in forums. I don't like the post count rules that a lot of forums have cause I mean people come to forums to discuss stuff or take media XD so I mean why bother placing a count?

Eh I'm not sure how I would do that. There's no function in the admin panel that is similar to what you're suggesting and I think to do it would mean a heavy overhaul of the CSS with complicated things that I know nothing about ;A;
So I'm not sure it's possible, the same with passwords.
although I do go through on a regular basis and check that members have posted. If they haven't posted a week after joining I'll remove them from the forum.

Also with this forum the post count doesn't really mean anything. there's no special privileges people get for getting certain amounts of posts, generally that kind of thing only encourages spam posts ^_^;

I see. There's no point if there has to be a huge overhaul of the forum.
I just wanted to see if it was possible. I have stuff I would like to share, but at the same time, this forum is basically taken all its information and media from other sources and sites (mainly the golden bomber lj from what I've seen) without credit to the original uploaders or without their permission. I just don't want my stuff ending up on other peoples blogs and was trying to think of a way to prevent this.

I do ask that people get permission and credit the original uploaders when posting media. also, media is members only, which does stop a lot of people from downloading it and spreading it around.
I do know how it feels to not have your stuff credited. I spent the good part of an hour scanning a photobook for SuG fans and a lot of people haven't credited it when they've taken it. It's just one of the things that's always going to happen
